In order to set up your D-Link DIR-615 router, you will first have to log into the router. In case you have already logged into the router, then continue with the steps to find and change the wireless settings on your D-Link router.
Go to the internet connection page of your router and select the link of wireless settings that is located on the left side. This will take you to the wireless network settings page. Go to the end of the page and click on the manual wireless configuration button.
After that, change the name of your wireless network. SSID name or wireless network name is the name that you give to your wireless network that helps in distinguishing it from other wireless networks. Create a unique network name but avoid using any personal details.
In order to change the wireless settings, you will first have to disable Auto Channel Scan by unchecking it. Then, select the channel of your choice from the drop-down list right next to the wireless channel. Please ensure that the channel that you select is either 11, 6, or 1.
On the same page, you will find wireless security mode. From the drop-down list right next to wireless security, select WPA-Personal. After that, go to the WPA option and select the WPA2 option from the pull-down list. The final thing that you are required to do is to create a new password. This is the security password that you enter to gain access to the internet. The new password you create needs to have a minimum of 14 characters and a maximum of 20 characters. You can use a mix of symbols, numbers, and letters in creating a new security key. After making the necessary changes in the Wi-Fi settings of your router, click on the button of save settings given at the top of the page.
