How to Setup DLink Range Extender via WPS Button?

If you wish to learn how to set up or configure your Dlink range extender using the WPS button. This is the same as the QIG of every report. However, there is something different. Sometimes, you find it tough to connect your range extender product to your access point using the WPS button.

Part A: Let's First Learn How to Configure a Range Extender

Below are the steps that you need to follow to learn how to setup your range extender.

Step 1: First of all, connect your range extender to a power source, which is close to your router or access point.

Step 2: Press the WPS button on your router or access point and then press the WPS button on your range extender.

Once you push the WPS button on your access point, then you are required to push the button on your range extender in the next 2 minutes. Therefore, it is recommended to press the WPS button of your range extender the moment you push the WPS button on your router.

Step 3: The WPS button will continue for 2 minutes only. After that, wait for a few minutes and then check the LED light of your wireless range extender. In case you find that the light is turned on, then that means your extender device is successfully connected to the main access point.

Step 4: If you see that the light of your range extender is off even after 2 minutes, then that means the WPS process is failing. You may also need to try one more or several more times of WPS operation.

Step 5: In the end, you need to keep your range extender at the right place where you wish to extend the coverage of your wireless network and then enjoy the extended wireless network. When you are done, you can connect it automatically every time you connect it back in. This is how you set up TP-Link extender using WPS button.

There are several factors that can impact the WPS process. In case you aren't able to configure your range extender using the WPS button, then you must configure it using a web interface.
