How to Set up Repeater Mode on DLink Router?

Repeater mode extends wifi coverage while maintaining the same SSID and security. If you already have a wireless network and some areas aren't covered, consider using Repeater Mode. There will be just one SSID in Repeater mode. Your wireless clients will be able to roam the entire area at that moment.

To Set up Repeater Mode on DLink Router:

Step 1: In the URL box of your web browser, type http://dlinkrouter.local.

Step 2: In the user ID area, type Admin. Enter the password now. If you haven't made any changes to the default password, you can leave the password box blank. Now, select Login from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Navigate to the Wireless tab and choose it. Now, on the left side of the menu, pick the wireless repeater.

Step 4: Take a peek at the repeater-enabled checkbox. To see the available AP for selection, go to the survey website. To move forward, select the required AP and then Next.

Step 5: To move forward, enter the pre-shared key in the section and select next.

Step 6: In the provided field, type the IP address. Please double-check that the IP address you used is in the same range as the primary router's IP address.

Step 7: To continue, select OK.

Step 8: To complete the configuration procedure, select Finish. You'll also need to restart your computer to get the new IP address.

The repeater's network name will remain the same as the previous one. Now enter the pre-shared key and the network name to log in. A guide for changing the network name and password is also available.
