How to Configure D'link Dap 1325?

DLink dap 1325 is wireless range extender is a portable plug in adapter which is used to extend your wireless network. You can simply place it any place at your home to extend your wireless network range. This range extender is basically used to expand your wireless coverage. DLink dap 1325 comes with smart signal LEDs and one touch security, which means you can connect with push button securily.You can connect it with wired device or you can create a wireless hotspot.

Unboxing: Suppose if you purchase a new DLink dap 1325, opening up the box, you will get DLink dap 1325 device with configuration manuals.

Overview: DLink dap 1325 device has two external antennas to extend wireless coverage. It comes with a plug and Ethernet port where you can connect your DLink dap 1325 with the router or access point.

Installation: first you need to attach DLink dap 1325 with power outlet and wait for some time to get lit LED light. When the LED light starts blinking, you need to search the network at your computer. Once you will search your network, click on the network and tap the connect button. After clicking on the connect button, a prompt message will come out which prompt you to enter a password in the password box.

Note:  you can get your default password which is written on paper which comes along with DLink dap 1325 in the box.

You need to enter that password in the password box and click on the connect button.

Now you need to open any installed web browser and type address which is dlinkpage74a.local/Home.html to go d'link web interface to configure your DLink dap 1325. On Clicking on the go button, you will get welcome prompt message wizard at your screen which shows you step by step guide like

  • Connecting your device
  • Configure your settings
  • Setup a password for your device

Then you need to click on the next button to proceed, where you will get install screen, you need to choose Wi-Fi option. On selecting Wi-Fi option, you will get a window which shows that you have to choose Wi-Fi network to install your extender.

Then you need to choose your wireless network in the network list and click on the network. It will ask to enter password. Now you need to enter admin password to secure access for the web based configuration page for your DAP-1325. Then you click on the finish button. This will take some time to save your change setting so wait for some time.

Now you need to connect with wireless network which you have configured above. Select wireless network and click on it which will ask you to enter a password, so you need to enter password and click on the connect button.

Speed test: Now it is the time to test your wireless network speed using trafagon.com. You need to type trafagon in the Google search box and click on the enter button which will take you on the website. You need to click on to test the speed where you will see your download and upload speed. Now you use the LAN cable one end in the extender and another end with your router or access point which means that you are going to test the speed without range extender. Open any kind of speed test portal and see the download and upload speed of your network. This time you will get a little bit of slow speed, which emphasize that range extender have increased your network speed.

Problem with DLink dap 1325 and resetting is required:

As you know that DLink dap 1325 is a range extender device. So it is quite common that your device is not working properly, so in this case there is most common troubleshooting step is to reset your DLink dap 1325 which means whatever settings you have done earlier will be removed or erased.

So to perform reset operation for your DLink dap 1325, some steps are required:

  • First you need to plug DLink dap 1325 in power outlet. The LED will turn red then orange then green, which will totally depends on your range extender model or setting which you have done earlier
  • There is a pinhole at the top of DLink dap 1325. By using a paper clip, you need to press and hold the reset button for approximately ten seconds  until the LED turn red and let it go. Now the extender will reboot with factory default settings.
